Its aim was to investigate which brand of light bulb was the most energy efficient and had the least impact on the native environment, and common technological devices. NCEA level 2 physics and biology scientific principles, as well as extended knowledge, were used in these experiments.
This site compares the benefits of Compact Fluorescent Light bulbs (CFLs
or Eco-bulbs) to those of regular incandescent lamps. The experiments use three brands of spiral 20W CFL (Philips, Elite,
Switch and Ecobulb Brand) and one of the most common 100W incandescent lamp
brands (Philips) for the most part. However some tests refer to CFLs in general.
This site aims to educate consumers about the advantages and
disadvantages of CFLs. It does this by comparing the
“focus” bulbs with incandescent lamps in a number of areas. The conclusions can be found on the “Better Bulbs?” page.
